For the Curious is a queer arts venture in Northern California — a variety show that pays its performers, a supper club that funds it, and a directory to help people find queer artists and the venues that welcome them.
Parts that pay for each other
Most rooms ask queer artists to work for exposure. We think that is backwards, so the funding is built in. Dinner pays for the stage, the stage introduces artists to audiences, and the directory means people can still find them the other fifty-one weeks of the year.

Who is behind it
For the Curious was founded by Chantelle Sookram, a Trinidadian-born, French-trained chef working on the Mendocino coast. Her cooking is the engine that funds the stage. You can find her kitchen work at mendocinochef.com and on Instagram at @sookram_chantelle.
