Why paid
Queer performers are asked to work for exposure more than almost anyone else in the arts. Exposure does not cover gas to the coast, it does not cover rehearsal time, and it does not cover the cost of building an act. So the fee is not an afterthought here — it is the reason the rest of the organization exists.
The money comes from the dinner table. Ticketed supper club nights subsidize the stage, which means the show does not depend on performers donating their labor. Read how that works on the supper club page.
Who we are looking for
Drag, burlesque, music, comedy, spoken word, circus, and the acts that do not fit any of those words. Northern California based, or willing to travel to the coast. You do not need a polished reel or a long résumé — you need an act you believe in.
